McGegan Returns to Conduct Juilliard415

Nicholas McGegan will return to conduct Juilliard415 in “Le monde galant,” featuring musical depictions of foreign lands by European composers Campra, Gluck, Gow, Lalande, Leclair, Rameau, Scarlatti, and Telemann on Wednesday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m. in Alice Tully Hall.

Following the concert, the ensemble will travel to the West Coast and perform the program in San Francisco at the de Young Museum on Sunday, October 29 at 4 p.m. Anchoring the program is Vivaldi’s virtuosic violin concerto “Il Grosso Mogul,” RV 208 featuring Juilliard violinist Alana Youssefian as the soloist.

Juilliard’s full-scholarship Historical Performance program was established and endowed in 2009 by the generous support of Bruce and Suzie Kovner.
