Mountain Home schools are experiencing a substantial rise in band participation, prompting the local Band Boosters organization to intensify fundraising efforts for the upcoming season. According to a report from KTLO, the district expects more than 140 sixth graders to join beginning bands, marking the largest area of growth compared to the previous year.
KTLO states that Band Booster President Clint Czeschin identified donations as essential for covering travel costs, meals, equipment, and hydration supplies for practices and competitions. The organization also operates concession stands from football season through spring sports to generate revenue. Czeschin told KTLO that these funds allow students to participate in marching band without paying the participation fees common in other districts.
The high school marching band began rehearsals in July and is scheduled for its first football game appearance on Aug. 28 against the Farmington Cardinals. KTLO reports that over 400 band students from across the district plan to gather on the field during the season opener for a mass performance honoring first responders and veterans. The news outlet notes that the Our Community Cares segment highlighting the group is sponsored by local businesses including Farmer’s and Merchants Bank.
