Music Mark and Etio to host Big Meet on new National Arts Education Centre

Music Mark and Etio to host Big Meet on new National Arts Education Centre

Music educators have an opportunity to help shape the future of music education through a 90-minute Big Meet session focused on the new English National Centre for Arts Education, which will be operated by Etio as the Department for Education’s delivery partner.

Music Mark reported that the session, co-hosted with Etio, will explore the centre’s vision, priorities and plans, followed by a 20-minute question-and-answer period. The organization described the centre’s launch as a significant moment for the sector and a chance for educators to contribute their voices on how it might support high-quality music education for all students.

After the presentation, attendees will join informal breakout discussion groups to identify key themes, which will be shared with Etio and DfE colleagues. Etio and DfE representatives will not attend those breakout sessions.

Music Mark, which advocates for excellent musical learning in and out of school as a membership organization and Arts Council England support organization, said attendees who face barriers to participation can request support. The organization also said it permits the use of AI note-taking tools on Zoom for accessibility, provided attendees notify organizers in advance.
