Nashville Symphony Announces ‘Violins of Hope’ Series

The Nashville Symphony and the Jewish Federation of Nashville and Middle Tennessee have announced “Violins of Hope,” a community-wide initiative centering on a collection of instruments played by Jewish musicians interned in concentration camps during the Holocaust.

More than two dozen Nashville-area groups and organizations are involved in the project, offering musical performances, art exhibits, lectures and more during this series.

Some events in this series include a speech from author James Grymes and instrument restorer Avshi Weinstein on October 14, a Vanderbilt Holocaust Lecture Series on October 24 and 28, a performance from the Nashville Ballet on February 9 through 11, “Guerrero Conducts the Violins of Hope” with the Nashville Symphony on March 22 through 24, a “Violins of Hope” exhibit in March, and a performance from Nick Cave on April 6.
