Nashville Symphony will celebrate its opening weekend from September 12 to 14 this fall.
Maestro Giancarlo Guerrero and the Nashville Symphony will open their new season with Tchaikovsky’s bold and brilliant Symphony No. 5, a vivid study in contrasts that builds to a triumphant finish. A master of both technique and feeling, pianist Garrick Ohlsson takes the spotlight on Barber’s Piano Concerto, a tour-de-force that is both fiendishly challenging and abundantly musical. One of America’s most esteemed contemporary composers, Adolphus Hailstork will be in attendance for performances of An American Port of Call, a loving musical tribute to Norfolk, Virginia, the city where he resides.
