Yamaha Corporation of America has appointed Paul Winterhalter as its new Percussion Product Specialist in the Band & Orchestral division. In his role, Winterhalter will provide high-quality technical support and expertise to the percussion department and its clientele.

“Yamaha has been a fundamental aspect of my experience in the music industry,” says Winterhalter. “I look forward to sharing my passion for the Yamaha brand, and above all, for the company’s world-class percussion products. Yamaha has had a huge impact on my experience as a musician.”

Winterhalter’s musical journey began in the fourth grade, where his first exposure to Yamaha came “while using the student bell kit in my lessons.” From there, his percussion education progressed through middle school and into high school, and culminated with a four-year career stint as member of two world-class drum and bugle corps.

Winterhalter served as a member of The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps in 2010 and 2011 and the Carolina Crown in 2012 and 2013. For the summers of 2014 and 2015, he also served on the instructional staff for Crown. In addition, he served as a member of the instructional staff for Dartmouth High school from 2011 to 2015.

In 2015, Winterhalter graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in Marketing and Management.

“Paul embodies all of the qualities that Yamaha seeks in a product specialist,” says Troy C. Wollwage, percussion marketing manager, Band & Orchestral division, Yamaha Corporation of America.  “His musicianship, marketing knowledge and experience with renowned drum and bugle corps, as well as his enthusiasm for the brand, will make him a great asset to our department.”

The Yamaha Band & Orchestral division is responsible for marketing, sales and research and development for strings, wind instruments, concert and marching percussion in addition to education initiatives for school music programs throughout the United States.
