Nilima Upadhyaya, a music teacher at Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s CBSE School No. 94, has been nominated for the Best Teacher 2026 award, Newsband reported. The educator, who specializes in Hindustani classical vocal instruction, will be recognized on September 6 during a ceremony in Ulwe organized by the IN Major City group under the Vidhyaiva Sarbhadhanam initiative.
Upadhyaya focuses her curriculum on developing student singing abilities while fostering confidence, discipline, and a lasting appreciation for music education. Her instructional approach recently brought district-level recognition to the school ensemble, which secured a trophy in a competition hosted by the municipal corporation last year.
