A collaborative workshop, designated the “Biobío Musical” event, is scheduled for October 28, aiming to foster connections and shared learning within the regional music sector. The Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage is organizing the event, which will run from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM at the Manuel Sanhueza Cruz Auditorium.
According to the regional cultural authorities, the gathering intends to provide a forum for musicians, record labels, and cultural managers operating in the Biobío region. Discussions will center on issues like decentralization, financial stability for local music, and methods for enhancing the professionalism of music project management and expanding their reach beyond the immediate area.
Featured sessions include a masterclass on music distribution and market access led by Martín Canessa, and a panel discussion featuring representatives from regional labels like Wachafa Records, Beast Discos, and Lanzallamas. The event will also incorporate a masterclass by singer-songwriter Fernando Milagros, who will discuss his career and his involvement with the RONDA cooperative.
Regional officials emphasize that supporting the music sector contributes to the preservation of cultural identity and recognizes the economic value of musical creation and dissemination. The workshop is part of a broader effort to bolster the regional music scene, encouraging collaboration, training, and visibility.
