The Salvation Army Gresham Music & Arts Academy will run two free summer music camps for youth in July and August, the outlet reported.
According to The Outlook Online, the camps are open to children ages 7 to 17 of any ability level and will take place at the Salvation Army facility at 473 S.E. 194th Ave.; participants must attend the first camp to be eligible for the second.
The first camp’s schedule includes Mexican dance, vocal and sight‑singing lessons, music appreciation, games, music theory, ukulele instruction and additional activities, while the second camp offers sight‑reading practice, brass instrument instruction, drumline work and a rock‑band experience.
Registration is open through July 8 via an online form, and families can direct questions to Mrs. Roberts by phone at 503‑290‑4496 or by email at greshammusicacademysa@gmail.com, the report said.
The Academy, described as an award‑winning program that performs nationally, aims to give participants a chance to make music, make friends and create lasting memories.
