D’Addario has been selected as a featured New York company for one of a handful of commercials running as a series for Senator Chuck Schumer’s reelection this year.

The 30-second ad on behalf of Senator Schumer’s (D-NY) re-election campaign focuses on his successful efforts to support D’Addario & Company, Inc. from Chinese counterfeiters who were undercutting the company by manufacturing and selling phony D’Addario strings online.

At Schumer’s urging, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative launched a coordinated effort to crack down on manufacturers and distributors of these counterfeit products – helping to save 800 well-paying D’Addario jobs on Long Island and the largest manufacturer of musical instrument accessories in the world.

The ad, which was shot at D’Addario’s headquarters in Farmingdale, features Senator Schumer and CEO Jim D’Addario highlighting this achievement. It will be one of a series of commercials running in October in the downstate New York region (NYC and Long Island) for about two weeks, with tentative plans to air statewide.
