Seven Guilderland High School student musicians have earned selection to New York State School Music Association All-State performing ensembles, described as one of the highest honors a student musician can achieve in New York state.
Guilderlandschools.org reported that the selected students are Crosby Belisle on trombone in the Symphonic Band, Grace Curro on trombone in the Symphony Orchestra, Grace Foran as soprano II in the Treble Chorus, Adam Hawrylchak on euphonium in the Symphonic Band, Christopher Hoffman as bass I in the Mixed Chorus, Lauren Rose Mele as soprano I in the Mixed Chorus, and Alex Parmerter on percussion in the Wind Ensemble and as bass II in the Mixed Chorus.
Anthony Padula on French horn, Caleb Pinder on flute and Emily Winans on cello were named All-State alternates, according to the district. Three selected students also earned alternate placements in additional ensembles: Curro in jazz trombone, Hawrylchak as tenor II and Parmerter on jazz drum set.
The district said thousands of students statewide participate each year in the NYSSMA Solo Evaluation Festival, where certified adjudicators evaluate performances and scores determine selection. The musicians will travel to Rochester from Dec. 3-6 for the 2026 NYSSMA Conference All-State Festival, rehearsing with peers from across New York before performing at Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre at the Eastman School of Music.
