The “Urban Resonance, Smart Harmony” series of events, organized by the Shanghai Modern Service Industry Federation and supported by the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, concluded in July. According to an official announcement, the week-long series included forums, lectures, immersive performances, digital soundscapes, music therapy sessions, and heritage preservation activities. The conservatory leveraged its expertise to explore innovative practices in “music empowering cities.”
The events kicked off with a forum focused on integrating education, industry, research, and application. Industry experts from the Yangtze River Delta region discussed creating a unified ecosystem, and the conservatory demonstrated how it utilizes asset management and artistic administration to convert academic resources into a catalyst for regional economic development. A performance featuring over 30 reconstructed Tang Dynasty instruments and the revival of ancient melodies marked the opening night.
Additional activities included a lecture and exhibition by violin-making master Professor Hua Tianrong, revealing the acoustics of instruments, and a digital media art competition showcasing innovative sound art. The Conservatory also launched a music therapy clinical transformation collaboration network, integrating music into healthcare, and presented a heritage exhibition showcasing cultural traditions.
