Six Southern Indiana high school marching bands earn ISSMA state finals spots

Six southern Indiana high school marching bands have earned spots at the Indiana State School Music Association State Finals, according to WOMI Owensboro. The competition is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

WOMI Owensboro reported that the qualifying schools represent the culmination of months of early mornings, late nights and summer band camps where students marched for hours in July heat. The outlet noted that while many bands have already concluded their seasons, these six programs advanced to the state’s top-level showcase.

The finals represent the grand finale of the Indiana high school marching band season, with each ensemble delivering one performance inside the indoor stadium. WOMI Owensboro described the event as an opportunity to watch the state’s best high school marching bands demonstrate what they have worked toward throughout the season.

For educators, students and families unable to travel to Indianapolis, WOMI Owensboro reported that the competition will be available online through a paid streaming option at TV.ISSMA.NET, providing access for friends and family who cannot attend in person.
