The 13th annual SoundSport Fest concluded in Indianapolis, drawing 15 groups from various locations, including an international contingent from Costa Rica. The Mercedes Marching Band, representing DCI’s International Class, participated after earlier performances at the DCI World Championship events.
According to Drum Corps International (DCI), Rhythm IN BLUE secured the “Best in Show” award at the festival. One performer, Eric Kennaugh, expressed his enjoyment of the SoundSport stage, noting the energetic atmosphere and camaraderie.
One participant emphasized the inclusive nature of SoundSport, explaining that it provides opportunities for musical growth and participation for all. A parent shared the special experience of performing alongside their daughter, highlighting the family-friendly environment.
The festival showcased a wide range of performers, ensembles, and food vendors, reflecting a commitment to diversity and creative expression. Attendees experienced a variety of musical styles and culinary offerings, contributing to a welcoming and inclusive event.
