Students from the Faculty of Business Creation at Kaishi Professional University planned and executed the Ryusakuba MUSIC Day event on August 20, 2026, in Niigata City. PR TIMES reported that the project originated within a third-year Social Design Practical Training course, driven by student desires to create a shopping district where music is part of daily life.
The curriculum emphasized executing real-world projects rather than solely creating proposal documents. Through dialogue with faculty, students identified local issues and negotiated directly with community partners and companies to organize the event at the Tad@Ryusakuba venue. Performers included members of the university music circle BONDY alongside students from other institutions, allowing residents to enjoy live music within the commercial area.
Participants reflected that handling planning and operations revealed challenges invisible in classroom settings. Students noted that music naturally gathered people for interaction and helped visualize local potential through new connections. Housing Tadokoro, the venue provider, expressed interest in continuing the initiative to generate ongoing value between learners and the community. The university intends to sustain these practical learning collaborations based on student-led desires to implement change.
