Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce donate $2 million to NYC music‑education nonprofit

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have contributed $2 million to Education Through Music, a nonprofit that delivers music education to under‑resourced public schools in New York City.

BroadwayWorld reported that the donation is part of the celebrities’ broader charitable efforts and is intended to sustain and expand programs that serve thousands of underserved students across the city.

Education Through Music, which was founded 35 years ago, has reached more than 350,000 students through long‑term school partnerships that supply music teachers, curriculum, professional development, instruments and performance opportunities.

Evaluations of the organization’s work show that participants develop confidence, collaboration, creativity and pride, and that these gains are linked to improved academic achievement.

The $2 million gift will fund the continuation of existing music classes, increase access to instruments and classroom resources, and create additional learning and performance opportunities for students.

Janice Weinman, the nonprofit’s chief executive, said the contribution affirms the belief that every child deserves access to the benefits of music education and will have a lasting impact on the children served.
