Thai School Choir Earns Gold, Silver at World Choir Games

A choir representing Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Secondary School in Bangkok, Thailand, won gold and silver medals at the recent World Choir Games held in Helsingborg, Sweden, as reported by Scandasia.

The Chulada Choir received a gold medal and 87.75 points in the Youth Choirs of Equal Voices category. While several choirs can receive gold medals in the same category, China’s ByeZoo Choir earned the highest score and the title of Champion of the World Choir Games. The choir also earned a silver medal with 79.25 points in the Sacred Choral Music a Cappella category.

The 14th World Choir Games, which took place from August 6 to 16, 2026, featured choirs with prior experience. Following the competition, the Chulada Choir performed at Sofia Church in Stockholm, organized with the Royal Thai Embassy. Thai Ambassador Arunrung Phothong Humphreys emphasized the importance of music in fostering cross-cultural connections. The performance included international and Thai choral works. The ambassador also hosted a lunch for the students to recognize their achievements and their representation of Thai culture.
