ATLANTA – The Atlanta Music Project’s virtual Music of the African Diaspora Festival takes place Feb. 25-28 on Facebook Live. The series of concerts kicks off Feb. 25 with The Next Generation: A Recital by the Young Musicians of the AMP Academy. Next up is Studio Sessions: An Evening with the Faculty of the Atlanta Music Project on Feb. 26. Then on Feb. 28, Songs of Solidarity: Chamber Music Ensembles of the Atlanta Music Project. All concerts start 7pm EST and are free of charge, but donations are welcome.

More details from the Atlanta Music Project (www.atlantamusicproject.org):

You’re invited to an unforgettable virtual experience! Bringing music to your homes and the spirit of resilience to your hearts, join us on Facebook Live as we celebrate the beauty and diversity of the African diaspora!

This digital adaptation of our beloved annual event comprises three concerts featuring works made popular by composers, arrangers, and artists from Africa and the African diaspora. Featuring performances, production and staging by our young musicians and faculty.

After a tough year, we take this moment to reflect and to move towards the future.

Audience members from around the world are invited to join us as we come together to celebrate Black History Month through song, bringing together tradition and history with its modern-day influence and cultural relevance.

These virtual concerts are FREE of charge, but donations are welcomed.
