The Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) has merged its membership program for younger patrons, previously called 37eleven, with the existing NextGen committee, a community of young professionals who meet regularly to increase DSO stewardship among their peers.

The new program is called NextGen and NextGen Plus, a two-tiered membership announced at a launch event on Thursday, August 24 at Our/Detroit.

The NextGen membership will now offer is a series of exclusive pre- and post-concert events throughout the season, and members will also be invited to join the NextGen Committee.

“The new direction for NextGen is exciting because it provides us with opportunities to join efforts with like-minded individuals in the community,” says Lydia Michael, Partnerships & Collaboration vice-chair of the NextGen Committee. “By engaging a young and diverse audience, the DSO continues to be an integral part of Detroit’s arts and music field.”

NextGen will cost $40 per season and will allow members to pay just $10 for tickets to over 100 DSO concerts. Membership also includes a ticket to two events open only to NextGen members and an invitation to join the NextGen Committee.

NextGen Plus will cost $140 per season, and also grants a ticket to all five exclusive NextGen events, access to DSO Replay (the on-demand streaming service to watch archived video webcasts of DSO performances), discounted tickets to DSO gala events, and an invitation to join the NextGen Committee. A two-person NextGen Plus membership, which includes two tickets to each NextGen event, is available for $240 per season.
