TiME UK and TiME USA Launch International Partnership to Advance Inclusive Music Technology Education

Music technology organisations in the UK and US have formalised a joint initiative aimed at widening inclusive practice in schools. On 5 August 2026, Technology in Music Education UK announced a partnership with its US counterpart, TI:ME USA, to build an international hub for educators, industry partners and music bodies to exchange resources and develop new approaches. Founded in 2019, TiME UK now serves more than 1,000 members, linking teachers, music leaders and community practitioners with leading tech manufacturers such as Ableton, Yamaha and several others. The organisation’s activities span events, continuing professional development and advocacy designed to help music educators integrate practical, musical and accessible technology into curricula. Executive Director Kate Rounding highlighted the need for reliable pathways for music‑tech firms into classrooms, noting recent successes in placing products before teachers and SEND practitioners. CEO Richard Llewellyn added that many educators still lack confidence and training to use digital tools effectively, and that the trans‑Atlantic exchange should amplify good practice across both countries. With millions of young people in the UK and US requiring additional educational support, the collaboration promises to broaden the pool of expertise available to schools, specialist settings and community programmes, while giving industry direct feedback from real‑world teaching environments.
