ToneCraft offers editable guitar effects for music learners

ToneCraft developer Aarush Gupta has introduced a guitar tone creation platform with an AI-assisted multi-effects plug-in for Windows and macOS. Gupta, a Grade 11 student and guitarist at UWCSEA Singapore, has proposed the platform as a tool for teaching guitar tone and effects.

ToneCraft combines overdrive, distortion, EQ, chorus, delay and reverb. In its Text to Tone workflow, guitarists describe a desired sound and generate corresponding effect settings. Audio to Tone uses a reference guitar stem to generate settings.

All generated settings remain editable through individual effect controls. Users can change a control, hear its effect and connect the result to distortion, EQ, modulation, delay or reverb. Factory presets and custom preset storage provide other starting points for comparison.

The plug-in is offered in VST3 format for Windows and VST3 and Audio Unit formats for macOS. ToneCraft also provides a browser-based simulator where users can connect a guitar, audition and adjust tones without a DAW.

Gupta says the platform is intended to help learners understand how tone is built rather than leave them with a fixed generated preset. His submission describes discussions with music schools in Singapore about possible educational use; it does not establish classroom adoption or independently verified learning outcomes.
