The University of Guanajuato will host the second edition of its Permanent Musicology Seminar 2026 from November 9 to 11, gathering faculty, researchers, students and professionals to explore connections between music, memory, art and technology, bajio.quadratin.com.mx reported.
The seminar is organized through the Division of Architecture, Art and Design and the Department of Music and Performing Arts, with activities offered in person, virtually and in hybrid formats across the Guanajuato, Irapuato-Salamanca and León campuses.
The event, coordinated by Dr. Fabrizio Ammetto through the Consolidated Academic Body Musicology, includes keynote lectures, workshops, laboratories, dialogue panels, discussion sessions, book presentations, commented recitals and forums for students and young researchers to present their projects.
The program spans five thematic axes addressing cultural heritage, education, technology and the social sciences. The opening day features a keynote lecture on academic relations between Italy and Mexico and a dialogue panel on artistic research as a transdisciplinary territory.
Subsequent days cover music as a therapeutic complement in medicine, links between music and space, and cultural heritage mediation. A forum for emerging projects gives students and young researchers a platform to share work, and a call to design the 2027 edition’s graphic identity will be announced.
