UNK marching band announces 2026 schedule and student roster

UNK NEWS reported that the University of Nebraska at Kearney Pride of the Plains Marching Band has announced its 2026 season schedule and membership roster. The ensemble, directed by Brian Alber with co-director Tyler Hawk and color guard coordinator Adrienne Rall, will begin performances at a home football game against Wayne State College. Student drum majors Samantha Bursaw of Ravenna and Raegen Hillman of Grand Island will lead the group.

According to UNK NEWS, the season features musical selections from “How to Train Your Dragon” and “Chicago: The Musical.” Beyond football games at Foster Field, the schedule includes the UNK Band Day Parade and the UNK Homecoming Parade in downtown Kearney. The band will also perform an exhibition at the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association State Marching Contest at Kearney High School.

The published roster lists students from various Nebraska towns, including Grand Island, Lincoln and Kearney, as well as members from Lawrence, Kansas, and Goose Creek, South Carolina. These students are set to deliver public performances starting in late August and continuing through November, supporting university athletics and local events.
