“WOMEN IN PERCUSSION: the Changing Market for Percussion” will be a roundtable panel approach that addresses the increasing market development needs, challenges and opportunities of young girls and women playing percussion instruments.

At press time the panel consists of the following representatives;  Retail Panelists: Victor Salazar, Vic’s Drum Shop (Chicago); Gary Forkum, Fork’s Drum Closet (Nashville); Percussion Industry representatives: Joe Testa of Vic Firth Corporation; Donny Gruendler from Musician’s Institute; Professional Female Artists Allison Miller (nationally recognized NY based drummer/composer/teacher) and Cora Coleman (nationally recognized for her Super Bowl performances with Prince and currently performing and touring with Beyonce’s band).

The panel presentation will be moderated by Drumhead magazine founder, Jonathan Mover.

The lively meeting will also include a brief overview of the market development plans and programs for the coming year, presented by the four executive officers of the organization, Brad Smith, David Jewell, Stacey Montgomery-Clark and Karl Dustman.
