Yamaha announced the new DM5 Series digital mixing consoles, expanding its family of professional mixing solutions with two compact models. Yamaha also released three new RUio Series utility I/O devices and DM7 Series V2.0 firmware.
The DM5 Series delivers professional mixing capabilities, scalability, and connectivity in a compact format designed to meet evolving production needs. The DM5 Series is available in two models: the DM5, a dual-bay 60-channel console with 26 faders, and the DM5 Compact, a single-bay 48-channel console with 13 faders. Both consoles support Dante networking at 96 kHz and offer extensive processing, flexible routing, USB audio, remote control, and Bluetooth playback.
A key innovation of the DM5 Series is the new glass key technology, which combines tactile controls with dynamic labeling that changes based on workflow and system status. Additional features include customizable controls, Dynamic Mode operation, adjustable display viewing angles, and Yamaha Assist functions that simplify setup and operation. Both models feature a PY Series card slot for expanded processing and connectivity, including the new PY-DSP card, Dante, MADI, AES/EBU, MIDI, GPIO, and Waves SoundGrid integration options. Optional software packages add functionality for broadcast, theater, and conferencing applications.
The DM5 Series is compatible with Yamaha DM7, DM3, RIVAGE PM, and R Series I/O products, enabling integration into existing Yamaha systems. Support from the growing Yamaha software ecosystem, including DM Editor, StageMix, MonitorMix, and ProVisionaire Control Plus, provides tools for configuration, control, and system management.

Yamaha also released DM7 Series V2.0 firmware, supporting the new DM5 and DM5 Compact consoles, along with the new RUio1608SB-D, RUio0804-D and RUio16FLX-D utility I/O units, and the existing Yamaha DME5, DME3 and NEXO DME10 signal processors. The firmware update also enhances setup and operational workflows.
