Virginia Arts Festival’s community outreach continues this spring season as the Festival presents “The Concert Truck,” featuring free, accessible outdoor concerts in area locations May 12-15.

The Concert Truck is directly aligned with the Festival’s mission to bring world-class performing arts to citizens and visitors, and to make a tangible difference in the area through regional partnerships and cultural tourism.

Impassioned by their love for music and belief in its emotional power, pianists Nick Luby and Susan Zhang converted a 16-foot box truck into a fully functioning mobile concert hall, complete with lights, sound, and a piano. Since the duo first set out in 2016, The Concert Truck has presented performances across the country in city streets, music and arts festivals, schools, neighborhoods, parks, and beyond!

The Concert Truck event schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, May 12 – 5:00pm

Purpose Park

801 Church Street, Norfolk

Thursday, May 13 – 6:00pm

Mount Trashmore

310 Edwin Drive, Virginia Beach

Friday, May 14 – 6:00pm

The Plot

776 Granby Street, Norfolk
