This weekend (April 27-29), over thirty leaders and advocates for El Sistema-inspired work in the United States will convene in Chicago to begin drafting documents needed to put additional shape to the El Sistema “field” in the United States and prepare to file for the organization. The convention will be hosted by the People’s Music School and will be facilitated by Crittendon Women’s Union President and CEO Elisabeth Babcock, who wrote a briefing paper for the project last fall.
