The Conn-Selmer Division of Education has welcomed Dr. Nola Jones as the Southeast Region Educational Support Manager beginning in September of 2018.

She will be retiring from the position of Director of Visual and Performing Arts for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools in Nashville, Tennessee at the end of this school year.

“I am very excited to join Conn-Selmer’s outstanding team of music education professionals and look forward to serving as their Southeast Region Educational Support Manager,” Dr. Jones says. ”Conn-Selmer considers music education a company priority and continually invests resources in support of leadership, advocacy and training focused on music education. We know music educators are changing lives every day, and their work is a heavy lift. I have loved my time in public education; supporting music education professionals in this new capacity is the opportunity of a lifetime.”

A native of Mississippi, Dr. Jones has enjoyed a successful career as a middle school and high school music educator. She has received numerous recognitions for achievements with ensembles under her direction, including performances in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, three Bands of America Regional Championships and the John Philip Sousa Foundations’ prestigious Sudler Shield of Excellence. Prior to her appointment in Nashville, Dr. Jones served as Director of Bands and Associate Professor of Music Education at the University of Tennessee at Martin. Before joining the UT Martin faculty, Dr. Jones served as Assistant Director of Bands and Assistant Professor of Music Education at Northern Arizona University. Dr. Jones maintains an active schedule as a guest conductor, adjudicator and clinician. She has appeared nationally in forty states and internationally including Canada, Japan, the Netherlands and Singapore.
