Josef-Schwarz-School is a state-recognised bilingual school with campuses in Heilbronn and Erlenbach in southern Germany. Our international school community combines the Baden-Württemberg curriculum with a bilingual learning environment, modern facilities and a strong focus on each student’s individual development.

For our Secondary School campus in Heilbronn, we are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Teacher of Music (in part-time) to join our international team.

The role

You will plan and deliver engaging Music lessons that combine practical music-making, musical theory and creative expression. We are looking for a teacher who can inspire students with different levels of musical experience and create an inclusive learning environment in which they can develop confidence, creativity and collaboration skills.

The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to the wider musical life of the school through performances, ensembles, projects, clubs or interdisciplinary activities.

Your responsibilities

• Teach Music to students at Secondary School level

• Plan lessons in line with the relevant Baden-Württemberg curriculum

• Develop creative, practical and academically challenging learning opportunities

• Teach musical foundations, theory and practical skills in a differentiated and student-centred way

• Support students with a wide range of musical abilities, interests and backgrounds

• Encourage musical expression, confidence and teamwork

• Contribute to concerts, performances and school-wide projects

• Collaborate with colleagues in an international and interdisciplinary team

Your profile

• A recognised teaching qualification for Secondary Education, such as Qualified Teacher Status or a qualification equivalent to the German Second State Examination

• Alternatively, a relevant Master’s degree in Music, Music Education or Musicology

• Strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching Music

• Experience of, or interest in, creative and competence-based teaching approaches

• A collaborative, reliable and student-focused mindset

• Native-level English and German language skills at B2/C1 level

• Commitment to supporting the individual academic and personal development of students
