This is an exciting opportunity to build something special. We are looking for an ambitious, creative and inspirational Head of Performing Arts to lead and develop Music and Drama across the School. We want Performing Arts to be a vibrant and highly visible part of school life: a place where pupils develop confidence, creativity and technical skill, but also where they have opportunities to perform, create, collaborate and take creative risks.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the future direction of Performing Arts at Long Close, developing an ambitious curriculum alongside a rich programme of concerts, productions, performances, ensembles, clubs and enrichment opportunities.
The role includes responsibility for Music from KS1 to KS4 and Drama from KS1 to KS3, providing a unique opportunity to create a coherent Performing Arts journey for pupils across the School.
The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge, enthusiasm, imagination and high expectations. They will be someone who combines ambition with a genuine enjoyment of working with young people and who wants to play an active part in the wider life of a close-knit school community.
