Excelcia Music Publishing releases its second Jazz Ensemble music catalog with new and inspiring tunes from well-known composers as well as talented new voices.  The 2021-22 music embraces the rich tradition of big band music and forges new ground in music for contemporary jazz ensembles.

This year, the publisher added a Grade 1 level (Jazz Odyssey), which features music in a variety of styles for beginners.  Also new, a Guitar chord frame chart specific to each piece is included in the more accessible grades in the series (Grades 1 and 1.5), showing both basic and advanced options for the Guitar player.  And as it has done in prior years, the publisher’s release includes live professional recordings of each piece (safely recorded), which can be used as a tool with students in the classroom as well as for remote learning.

“This year’s catalog covers everything from cool, sophisticated, understated music to roaring blues and hard swinging flag wavers, there’s something for everyone as jazz ensembles come back together this year, ” said Excelcia Music Publishing’s Jazz Editor, Blair Bielawski.  “Our talented roster of composers really came through, producing music that is fresh, innovative and thought-provoking at all the grade levels.”

Each score, and its accompanying parts, are meticulously-edited and beautifully set for ease of reading and include unique features to increase accessibility and help facilitate efficient rehearsals.  Published in Excelcia Music Publishing’s signature color-coded series, the 2021-22 Jazz Ensemble Music charts are grouped into five levels that range in difficulty from music appropriate for middle school students just starting their jazz journey to more challenging music for high school groups: Jazz Odyssey Series (grade 1), Jazz Exploration Series (grade 1.5), Jazz Horizon Series (grade 2), Jazz Voyage Series (grade 3) and Jazz Zenith Series (grade 4 and up).

Excelcia Music Publishing’s 2021-22 Jazz Ensemble release can be reviewed and purchased using the publisher’s interactive digital catalog.  In addition to the professional recordings, the digital catalog includes pop-up Score Videos and preview scores for each piece on its website as well as Composer Insights videos where composers share inspiration and details about their pieces.

Excelcia Music Publishing’s 2021-22 Jazz Ensemble music is available from music retailers everywhere and from the publisher.
