The Conn-Selmer Division of Education has announced North Callaway High School, Kingdom City, Missouri as the winner of the Timpani Giveaway Sweepstakes. The school received a set of 4 Ludwig (LTS404PG) Standard Polished Copper Timpani.
In September of 2019, the Conn-Selmer Division of Education launched the Ludwig Timpani Sweepstakes allowing music educators and school administrators across the country to enter online to win a set of timpani for their school music program.
Erikka Brown, North Callaway High School’s assistant principal, was announced as the winner at the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic on Friday, December 20 in Chicago, Illinois.
Brown commented, “We are grateful for Conn-Selmer’s generosity! North Callaway High School’s Music Department will greatly benefit from this contribution to our program. We look forward to continuing to watch our students flourish as they embark upon this new opportunity to learn and grow!”
North Callaway High School’s brand-new set of Ludwig Standard Polished Copper Timpani were delivered in January 2020.
Alex Higgins, band and choir director at North Callaway High School, stated, “As a music department that has been working hard to update facilities and equipment, it feels absolutely incredible to have a set of timpani given to us! The students and parents have worked diligently to earn funds for new equipment and instruments, and this has already been a morale booster. Thank you so much to Conn-Selmer for providing this amazing opportunity for schools. We appreciate what you do in the name of furthering educational opportunities!”
