Music educator Bruce Edmiston nearly missed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for his music program, but fortunately, he decided to take his own advice.
"I remember seeing the grant application in my mailbox one day," he recalls. "I picked it up, looked at it and thought, 'Oh, great. It's another one of these things to fill out.' But then I thought, 'You're always telling the kids to persevere; you should practice what you preach.' So I did, and I'm glad I did."
