SBO+’s publisher Mike Lawson is a longtime fan of Internet Radio streaming, having operated ShoutCast Streaming Audio Server streams for over 15 years for live performances. As owner of SBO+, and somebody often asked to be on music educational and other podcasts, he has decided to help podcasters serving music education and topics of interest to music educators by creating a new 24/7 Internet radio streaming channel.
The SBO+ Radio plan is to feature podcasts, and also program original music compositions and recordings by students and their teachers, of all genres. The channel will have a scheduled structure like you find on SiriusXM or NPR, with the schedule of programming listed on SBOPlus.net, and actively promoted to the readers of the publication, within the magazine, website, newsletters, and promotional emails, as well as outside Internet Radio curating portals.
The programming schedule will also feature links to on-demand sources of your podcasts and music for listeners to go and find when they are not casually listening to the radio show, or want to hear again what they heard here.
We are gathering programming now. If you have a podcast, or music (it has to be original or public submitted with express permission to use, non-royalty bearing) you want considered for programming, please email publisher Mike Lawson with links, and he and our team will start the process of programming your submissions as accepted. There is no cost to have your podcast or music be part of our streaming channel. We think this will be a fun addition to what we do at SBO+, where we celebrate all things music education!
