MakeMusic Inc., creators of SmartMusic, announces the ability for students and teachers with access to Premium content (excluding free, standard or trial subscriptions) to print thousands of educational titles at no additional cost for the coming U.S. academic year.

This new feature includes a selection of the most widely-used method books from key music education publishers, such as Sound Innovations and Accent on Achievement from Alfred Music, Tradition of Excellence and Standard of Excellence from Neil A. KJOS Music Company, and Measures of Success from FJH Music Company Inc.

“Through our longstanding partnership, SmartMusic has proven its ability to represent and deliver Alfred Music’s educational content to students and teachers at the highest standard possible,” said Chris Bernotas, director, Instrumental School Methods & Repertoire, Alfred Music. “We’re incredibly proud of the way in which SmartMusic has continued their support of all those affected by the ongoing school closures and the innovative ways in which they have kept teachers and students engaged during remote teaching situations. The new print function is just another way where, through our partnership, we are able to provide solutions for unique teaching situations this academic year, and therefore Alfred Music is delighted to make thousands of our most popular methods and solo content available for print, starting today.”

SmartMusic’s ongoing goal is to provide solutions for every learning situation that music teachers and students are faced with this school year. The web-based practice tool offers an unrivaled repertoire library, easy to use practice tools, and helps teachers track student progress, allowing students to continue their musical development and growth from home.

Mark Kjos, president, Neil A. Kjos Music Company commented, “As we all struggle for online teaching solutions during this challenging time, Kjos Music is pleased to partner with MakeMusic on this exciting new SmartMusic initiative.”

While SmartMusic has been best known for its powerful suite of web-based tools that support efficient practice, they remain committed to offering music teachers and students the best learning solutions, for all instructional settings. Inspired by the overwhelming response after providing SmartMusic for free to all schools affected by COVID-19 closures, the Print on Demand feature is now the next tool that has been added to the SmartMusic platform to help educators during continued uncertain times.

“The FJH Music Company is committed to supporting educators’ musical needs during this time of transition as we continue to provide quality educational material. As we all navigate through online and social distant teaching with school closures, FJH is pleased to participate in SmartMusic’s platform solution that keeps educators and students engaged in music study in this remote environment,” said Kyle Hackinson, vice president, The FJH Music Company.
