Vandoren hosted more than 20 Vandoren Regional Artists (VRAs) this August at the 2016 VRA Summit in Chicago, IL.
The mission of the VRA program is simple: Educate and excite students to become the best musicians they can be. To that end, this year’s summit offered VRAs from around the country the chance to connect with one another in person. Following an evening meet and greet, the summit gave way to an in depth roundtable discussion during which VRAs shared logistical and pedagogical tips with one another and discussed ways in which the program could be improved for the 2016-17 school year. After a year of over 280 free clinics at schools around the country, Vandoren is continually impressed by the collective will and desire of the VRAs to continue to improve.
“It is incredibly inspiring to be around these highly skilled educators,” says Michael Skinner, President, DANSR, inc. “They certainly fulfill the mission of Vandoren to educate and inspire young musicians! I am exceptionally proud of our VRA staff!”
Following the roundtable, VRAs were given a sneak-peak of the brand new Chicago Vandoren Musician’s Advisory Studio. During this time VRAs were informed of new products, and were able to refresh their product knowledge through trials and the guidance of Vandoren Product Specialists.
