Software developer Touchpress recently unveiled the new comprehensive iPad app The Orchestra, which combines in-depth video, audio, musical scores, and performances from the London-based Philarmonia Orchestra for an immersive and eye-opening experience. Software developer Touchpress recently unveiled the new comprehensive iPad app The Orchestra, which combines in-depth video, audio, musical scores, and performances from the London-based Philarmonia Orchestra for an immersive and eye-opening experience. Conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen is on hand along with the musicians for in-depth commentary and an interactive guide to every instrument in the orchestra. A feature dubbed the “Blinking Lights Panel” envisions the entire orchestra as a series of individual dots, each representing an individual instrument that lights up during the performance whenever that instrument is playing.
