Pfaelzer Tuition-free Conservatory will play on…and on…and on at Performathon, a free, 12-hour marathon fundraiser, Friday, February 26 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, February 27, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

More details from Merit School of Music (meritmusic.org):

Parents and children interested in performances by outstanding young musicians are invited to drop by anytime at Merit’s state-of-the-art home in Chicago’s West Loop, the Joy Faith Knapp Center, 38 S. Peoria St. The school’s top young musicians and ensembles – from all areas of the city, and who attend the Conservatory at no charge – will be performing non-stop on two stages for nearly 12 hours, for a must-see benefit performance of live classical and jazz selections.

In addition to offering hours of free performances, Performathon doubles as the Merit Parent Association’s top annual fundraiser to support the school’s nationally renowned Conservatory program. Dozens of parent volunteers will be on-site helping raise funds to keep Merit’s Conservatory tuition-free via a raffle, Merit merchandise sales, an ethnic food fair and national online silent auction.
